About us

NeoRise Advisory combines accounting, bookkeeping, tax and business advisory services to help Australian business owners understand their numbers and make better business decisions.

Beyond traditional accounting services, we help clients improve cash flow, profitability, financial management and business operations, including through the use of AI and technology.

We’re looking for an organised, commercially minded person with strong bookkeeping skills to help manage our clients and keep the practice running efficiently.

The role

You’ll be a key point of contact for our clients and the person who keeps the day-to-day operations of the practice moving. This role combines three important functions:

  • Client services: Looking after clients, responding to enquiries, coordinating onboarding and following up.
  • Bookkeeping: Assisting with practical bookkeeping work, maintaining accurate financial records and identifying issues.
  • Practice coordination: Managing workflows, deadlines, outstanding documents and communication between clients and accountants.
We need someone who is confident with numbers, comfortable speaking with business owners and organised enough to keep multiple client jobs moving without constant reminders.

What you’ll do

01

Bookkeeping & accounting support

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Process and categorise transactions in Xero or MYOB.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Review outstanding transactions and identify bookkeeping discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate client financial records.
  • Prepare bookkeeping files and supporting information for BAS, GST and other accounting work.
  • Identify missing documents, incorrect coding and reconciliation issues.
  • Support accountants with month-end and year-end preparation.

BAS, tax and other regulated services must be undertaken within your competency and under appropriate registered practitioner supervision.

02

Client services & communication

  • Answer incoming calls and client emails.
  • Respond professionally to accounting, bookkeeping and advisory enquiries.
  • Understand what clients need and direct them to the appropriate team member.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new clients.
  • Explain services, processes and next steps using approved information.
  • Follow up with prospective clients and help convert suitable enquiries into engagements.
  • Request missing documents and information.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Ensure clients receive timely updates and aren’t left wondering what is happening with their work.

03

Practice administration & workflow

  • Manage client onboarding and engagement administration.
  • Maintain client records and practice management systems.
  • Coordinate appointments and meetings with accountants and advisers.
  • Track outstanding jobs, deadlines and client requests.
  • Follow up with team members on pending work.
  • Prepare and send invoices and monitor outstanding payments.
  • Coordinate recurring compliance and bookkeeping work.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and help resolve them.
  • Ensure important tasks are completed without unnecessary delays.

04

Technology & process improvement

  • Use Xero, MYOB and other accounting software confidently.
  • Maintain accurate data within our CRM and practice management systems.
  • Use approved AI tools to improve administrative efficiency.
  • Identify repetitive tasks that could be automated.
  • Help develop templates, checklists and consistent client communication processes.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Practical Australian bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, GST, BAS concepts and payroll processes.
  • Experience using Xero or MYOB.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Confidence communicating with clients over the phone.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership.

Highly regarded

  • Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or higher qualification.
  • Experience working in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping practice.
  • Experience with practice management software.

  3. Bookkeeping work is accurate, organised and completed on time.
  4. Accountants have the documents and information they need.
  5. Outstanding client jobs and deadlines are actively monitored.
  6. Clients receive regular communication without having to chase us.
  7. The practice runs more efficiently, allowing accountants and advisers to focus on higher-value work.

What we offer

  • Full-time position based in Chatswood, Sydney.
  • Office-based role, working from our Chatswood office.
  • Salary of $60,000–$80,000 + super, depending on experience.
  • Exposure to accounting, business advisory and AI-driven business solutions.
  • Opportunities to develop your bookkeeping, client management and operational skills.
  • A practical, commercially focused working environment.
